Since my last post I've really struggled to play any kind of volume because when I have played I've lost money at breakneck speed. After losing $1k in my last session of $2/$4 I went back to $1/$2 as I didn't want to run out of money in that particular account. Within 165 hands of starting a session, I had to quit it down $750. I tried again the next day and the same thing happened, I lost about $700 in even fewer hands and had to quit again to avoid tilting off the rest of the bankroll. Dunno what I'm gonna do about this tbh, I won't be able to sustain a rate of -200bb/100 for all that long before having to drop down a level or two...
So maybe some live pokers? I played the £75 freezeout in DTD today. Busted that after 2hrs but decided to hang around for some cash. The game was ridiculous for a live 1/2 game, I was first to sit at a new table and the game quickly filled with twenty-something guys buying in for £200 and riffling chips. Despite the bad game, I stuck around hoping it would get better and luckily I caught some cards in good situations and won a few quid off other players tilt. Presumably they were tilting because the game was such poor value. I was sitting on about £650 from an initial £200 buyin when my luck returned to normal and I lost a £500 pot where I was like 8:1 favorite or something. Ah sod it, I'll write the bad beat story, if you don't like it, don't read it:
6 handed, new player to my right (yet another twenty-something guy, this one sporting a full tilt hoodie) has re-straddled to £8, playing 250 or so. I raise to £25 first to act with J9s, it's folded round to this guy who calls. The flop comes 973r, he checks, I bet £32, he raises to £230, I set him in for the £15 or so he kept back. Turn 6, river 10, he shows 98o. I can't be arsed to work out the odds (yes I can, turns out I'm only 4:1 actually), but it's pretty bad on his part.
I lost another hand afterwards that tilted me enough that I had to leave. A different young guy raised utg in my bb to £8, 2 or 3 others call so I call the extra £6 with 86s. I flop a flush draw on a KTx board and check it to this kid who makes a ridiculously bad string bet for £4, oh and also £20. The dealer doesn't notice it and the others all fold. While I count out a call for the full £24, he pushes his cards towards the muck thinking he's taken down the pot. I say 'whoa careful, not yet' and stop him losing the pot to me. I say "I'll let you off for the string bet AND for mucking your cards" and call the full £24. To acknowledge my fair play, the kid has a go at me for hiding my cards, then bets £55 on the offsuit 7 turn. You'd think he might check it down considering I could have just taken the whole pot due to his mistake, but no. I call again, mainly out of spite I guess, but the river blanks a J. Check-check. I say "I missed", he says "Thought so", and shows QJ to win the pot. Thought so?? How about you think to look how many players are in the pot before you muck your cards you fucking idiot. Fuck sportsmanship, next time someone tries to lose a pot to me on a technicality I'm gonna take it, and if it's you and you feel hard done by, you can blame this fucking prick.
Whew, red mist there for a second, sorry about that. Tomorrow I'm playing the 330 main event at DTD. Presumably I won't cash which will make it something like 6 months since I won any money at all. This is getting very old.

believe cambridge poker society were there tonight, if they were drunk it was probably sweirs friend george if you remember him
As you know im no cash player. But is it wise to raise utg with j9std on a 'no value table'? Just wondered if maybe when on a downswing its better to play a bit more snug with pos etc?
Obv his play with 98 is lol here anyway so its not like you got outplayed, just wondred if u shld have played the hand in the first place, lol at me talking about playing tighter hey. Sorry james dont mean to be rude or nothing.
As for the string/mucking guy, just lol. What a fool, esp the comment aimed towards to you for 'hiding' your cards. I had a similar incident in walsall in a side event, but i took the pot down with all out aggro, not skill obv.
Finally your posts are normally so chilled and sarky, this one seems sarky but rather angry and perhaps tilty. I think your edge is always in your ability not to tilt and play like an iceman, almost always making the correct decision. Dont lose this.
Good luck in the 300 bud, i wldnt be at all surprised if u took it down.
Laters peep!
I enjoy the blog Mr Keys. I've linked you up - feel free to do the same if you have time to give my blog a gander.

Cheers
